    Have you ever mentioned a friend in a post and then called them to say “Hey, check out my Xanga!”? Or had a friend mention you in a post, but you didn’t see it until weeks later??

    With User Tags, it just got a lot easier to find posts that mention you! A User Tag is a special type of tag that allows you to link your posts to your Friends on Xanga. For example, on this post, I’ve tagged myself and Patrick for programming this new feature .

    We’ve added some safeguards to protect your privacy. For now, you can only tag yourself and your Friends, and only your Friends can view the page that lists all the items where you’ve been tagged (click on the username in the User Tags module). In addition, if you’re tagged on another Xanga site, you can still remove that User Tag by visiting the page and clicking on “remove” next to your username (of course, you need to be signed in first).

    To add User Tags to your weblog, just open up a New Weblog Entry or edit an existing post:

    I use the old editor because i like it better.

  • gonchoi – sorry, we don’t support Tags or User Tags on the old Rich Text editor.  please try either the default or alternative version =)

    you made it sound like the myself-and-my-Friends-only safeguard is a temporary solution. i’m interested to know when & how you will allow non-Friends tagging.

  • Help!!! I don’t know who to ask, so I’ll try you. I’m trying to shut down my site, but it won’t let me because it says I don’t have the right password. This can’t be right because I tried it a dozen times, changed it, and tried it a dozen more times. I have firefox, though. Does that mean anything? What can I do to shut down my site? I think it might want me to use the original password, but I have no idea what that is!! I’ve changed it a bunch . . . Can you help me?

  • hi mary. i am writing a comment through another person’s site cuz there is something wrong with mine. whenever i try to access my private or public site, windows says, operation aborted. it started this when i was fiddling with my new layout. since  i am a dedicated xanga fan, i really want to get my site back!!! if you can help, please comment on septic_sleuth’s.

  • Hi Mary. This is Laura. I am the original owner of ChateauElanx3. My site got hacked. I’m so upset. Serisouly, could you please help please???!! This girl has an illegal program i WILL call the police if she doesnt get caught because tis means she could hack any site she can. She could of never figured out my password. NEVERR. Me & my trustfullllll best friend amanda are verryyyy sad. please help us. I changed the password when xanga emailed me but it still wont let me sign in. Please  help me.   • Hi, Mary. My site — FiNGERPAiNT_LAYS — has been frozen over almost 2 hours & it says, sorry, incorrect login . And i`m typing it slowing & i`m doing it right. Do you know by any chance to make it UNfrozen because it does say 30-45 minutes & it`s been over an 1 & a half already or unless SOMEONE like a hacker changed my password, which i doubt. But, please … could i have my site back. I really need it back. It`s probably my only site that has been a success and i don`t want it to get ruined by someone. Thank you.

    I was wondering….Can you put like a botton that says :REPLY: and when you click it people will get to know you commented back without commting on there site ……but only after they comment on you site?

    If that was comfuseing check out deviantart.com and how they comment each othere seems alot better

  • I know Xanga recently moved to an All-Access block, and it’s wonderful. However, I’ve already had a certain person create 3 different xanga accounts to get around it. Is there anything in place to block a particular IP address? That would catch this guy, and the problem would be solved.

    I would like to know some information about tags function. I was added some tags into my article, and then deleted all article by me more than once, but why have some tags are reservations?

    I wonder if you can help me clean my tags records?
